About Us

We're not just dressing babies. We're building a more thoughtful way to care.

There's a Native American proverb that says, “We do not inherit the Earth from our ancestors; we borrow it from our children.”

It is with deep respect for this understanding that MyBabyBarn was created.

Our Story

Founded by father-daughter duo Alex and Shona, My Baby Barn was born from a simple belief: parents shouldn't have to choose between what's best for their babies and what's best for the planet.

We're here to support parents in finding affordable, eco-friendly clothing that keeps their babies' comfort, health, and future in mind. Every My Baby Barn product is made with 100% organic cotton in a GOTS-certified facility, giving families a softer, more sustainable choice for their little ones.

But we believe sustainability shouldn't stop at the first purchase.

Through Farmhouse Friends, parents can return clothing when their little ones have outgrown it or no longer need it. By giving these garments another life, we help reduce textile waste while making sustainable baby clothing more accessible and affordable for growing families.

Because babies grow quickly, but the impact of the choices we make today can last for generations.

At My Baby Barn, we're not just dressing babies. We're building a more thoughtful, circular way to care for our children and the world they will inherit.

Alex

Co-founder

Alex is a problem solver. That's why when his daughter, Shona, had children, he was convinced there was a better way to help new parents navigate this exciting and challenging time. My Baby Barn grew out of a belief that babies need the best of what's out there, and that the best can be aligned with what's best for our collective future.

Shona

Co-founder · Product design & development

Shona is an accomplished journalist, world traveler, and storyteller. She has always had a passion for ethical fashion, and when she had children of her own, she got hand-me-downs and loved finding great second-hand pieces for her kids. That sparked a search for a better way to dress babies on a bigger level. At My Baby Barn, she is largely responsible for product design and development and her influence can be felt in the smooth, easy and no-nonsense process and policies.

The Factory

SAR Apparel · GOTS certified

Located near Kolkata, in India, where Alex is originally from, the SAR Apparel factory is a unique blend of vision and ethics. Powered by solar energy, the factory is spacious, workers get fair salaries, and textile waste is treated directly on site to protect local water sources. Armed with a certification from prestigious GOTS, their organic textiles are traceable all the way back to the farmer who grew the cotton, through the weaver who spun it into yarn, and the dyer making vibrant colors that don't harm your baby.

What we stand for

Our Values

01

Quality, Hygiene & Safety

You can shop with confidence. Every item is listed with clear fabric and care information, and we only offer pieces that meet our standards for quality, cleanliness, and condition.

02

Our Purpose & Vision

You deserve more value from your clothing budget. Baby Barn gives you access to fairly priced new essentials and a simple way to return qualifying garments for store credit when your child has outgrown them.

03

The Cost of Raising a Child

You shouldn't have to pay full price every time your child changes size. Kids grow quickly, seasons change, and many garments still have plenty of life left in them. We help you get more value from those clothes instead of starting over at every transition.

04

A More Circular Way to Shop

You can keep quality clothing in circulation. Buy what your child needs, use it while it fits, then return qualifying pieces through Farmhouse Friends after inspection. When approved, you receive store credit to put toward what comes next.

You can expect thoughtful service from people who care. My Baby Barn is built by a small team of operators, parents, and technologists committed to transparent listings, dependable fulfillment, and making shopping for your little ones easier. We're growing thoughtfully, and we're always open to working with people who share our vision.

Why build My Baby Barn?

Short answer: Alex was bored in retirement. We kid. But not really.

But on a serious note, Alex was reintroduced to the rising costs and lack of quality options when it came to baby clothes through the birth of his grandchildren. He was also horrified to learn of the impact textile production and waste have on the environment. Rather than kick back and allow one more problem to plague future generations, he decided he could and would do something about it. And thus, My Baby Barn was born.
